MWM is a licensed Unlimited General Contractor. Optical & Precision Alignment

Optical alignment of equipment is a critical component for a streamlined manufacturing process. MWM is the only company in Western North Carolina to offer laser precision alignment services on all new and existing industrial equipment, from big pumps to paper machines, through the use of both digital and analog optical alignment technology by our seasoned professionals. We use the highest quality Swiss optical instruments, including Wild Heerbrugg’s analog T2 and Leica digital Total Station. Our alignment tools and methods used during machine installations get equipment set up and running more quickly and ensure infield quality control for machinery setting.

MWM surpasses industry standards by using advanced state-of-the-art digital optical alignment methods in multiple industries. Regardless of project complexity, we combine our seasoned experience with the latest optical alignment technology. Our technicians have over 20 years of professional experience. They can align almost anything with precision accuracy from an array of optical alignment inspections for machinery installations, rebuilds and preventive maintenance to new construction layouts to ensure accurate setup of industrial machinery and equipment.

Upon completion of alignment services, MWM will provide the client with a professional alignment report of findings, corrections, and future reference. Our number one goal is to guarantee that all of your equipment is optimized for long life and efficient energy usage.

Rigging & Machine Moving

MWM is your full-service rigging and machine moving experts! Our highly-efficient team of experienced riggers specialize in turn-key installations and relocations of your industrial machinery, complex lifting, and all types of heavy equipment. We provide all the necessary riggers, machine movers, millwrights, and skilled-craft professionals to successfully complete your project.  We are proud to own and operate an extendable counterweight 35/45 lift.  Our “Little Beast” lift gives us the ability to move equipment in tight spaces that standard lifts cannot operate.

Whether the project requires moving one or multiple machines within your plant, our riggers oversee the job from start to finish, handling all the logistics of preparing, dismantling, and transporting machinery with the utmost care. Plant Maintenance, Shutdowns & Relocations

At MWM Construction & Rigging, we employ a large pool of craftworkers who can perform any size of plant maintenance, shutdown, or plant relocation. Whether the project is planned or an unexpected emergency takes place, we strive for the utmost care and systematic execution to ensure that your short-term expenses are significantly offset by improved plant efficiency and operations.

At MWM Construction & Rigging, we employ experienced workers who can safely and efficiently install overhead, jib, and woodyard cranes.  We can provide Certified Welders for crane installation and repair welds and also the rigging expertise required for maintenance activities such as changing hoist, gearboxes, and motors.  Whether the project is planned, or an emergency takes place, we take the utmost care with planning and execution to ensure that your budget and expenses are met with our effective and efficient installs.

Steel Erection & PEMB

From overhead crane installation to small steel erection projects to heavy conventional structural steel, the MWM team delivers the highest quality solutions to ensure your project is completed on time and on budget. Projects can include fabrication and modification to existing structures, in addition to small and large-scale steel erection projects. For structural welding, MWM employs certified, AWS D1.1 qualified welders. 

Our steel erection services include:

Process Piping

MWM management and process piping crews have worked with local and national engineering firms to deliver design/build and EPC projects. From customized cost estimates based on your own design and specifications through project completion, MWM is dedicated to providing a quality product with maximum performance.

Our highly skilled piping crews consist of AWS/ASME certified pipe welders and pipefitters. We perform welding to ASME B3.1 & B3.3 standards and certifications and maintain required welding records and documentation for all welders.
